Problem!
Spatial interactions are normally constrained to a single eye level, such as tables or floors.
The connection with the virtual space is lost when people remove their headset.
Answer!
Used the ceiling as an alternative method for meditation, as there is less furniture that would act as a barrier to planting plants.
The growth of the plant will be connected to the presence of the users.

About
CONCEPT
Player can combine seeds and toss them onto the ceiling with their hand and their presence accelerates the growth of the garden and even allows them to harvest the seeds.
Goal
STRATEGY
MR adoption depends on high retention, but many Quest apps focus on novelty and one-time fees instead of long-term engagement.
Lifestyle apps like Mindway, Tripp, and Supernatural VR succeed by fostering daily habits and mindfulness, creating a sustainable user base.
LuminaMR encourages habit formation through daily interaction with virtual plants, blending mindfulness with spatial innovation—all while using the ceiling as a core design element.

Element
In Lumina MR, your presence fosters an immersive virtual garden on your ceiling, composed of 3 main elements: Seeds, Islands, and Plants.
How Built
Lumina MR is built with Unity (version 2022.3.22f1), leveraging some of Meta Presence Platform’s Mixed Reality capabilities:
Passthrough
Besides using passthrough to allow the player to see their world, we're using Color Look-Up Tables (LUTs) to stylize passthrough to communicate our two game states: Building and Gazing.Spatial Anchors
We're using (locally stored) Spatial Anchors to maintain Islands and Plants positions, and ensure the garden's consistency between sessions.Scene
We're using Scene understanding capabilities alongside the Mixed Reality Utility Kit toolset to identify valid spawn points for the Plants in the player's room ceiling.Depth
We're using depth occlusion for an increased immersion effect.
