Concept
Rafty is MR game where rooms and furniture transform into a raft floating on a vast, open sea. By scanning the environment, a unique boat is created, setting the stage for an exciting adventure. Paddle across the water, fish in the sea, and collect floating treasures while interacting with the surroundings.
The experience comes to life with moving water, dynamically spawning treasures and fish, and the ability to reshape the raft by moving and rescanning furniture.
Element
The players can paddle around, fish in the sea around you, and collect floating treasure. Each player leaves a trace in the game as they play.
Paddle : explore the vast sea and uncover new opportunities for different interaction
Fishing: interactive fishing mechanic, allowing players to cast lines, reel in catches, and discover a variety of sea creatures during their journey
Treasure: floating treasures can be used to customize and enhance the raft
Captain Gully: An NPC companion serves as the guide and storyteller.

We aimed to create unique interactions using specific furniture instead of large areas, enabling everyone to enjoy the experience with MRUK's Anchor Prefab Spawner
How Built
Rafty was built using Unity (version 2021.3.22f1) with the Mixed Reality Utility Kit (MRUK) and the Interaction SDK as core tools.
Prototyping: The initial prototype focused on testing the feasibility of scanning and combining multiple furniture pieces to create customizable rafts. MRUK's Anchor Prefab Spawner played a key role in achieving this.
Furniture Integration: A system was developed to allow furniture to be scanned, repositioned, and re-scanned, enabling users to design unique rafts tailored to their space.
Interactive Features: Dynamic environmental interactions, such as fishing, treasure collection, and paddling mechanics, were added to enhance the gameplay experience.
Visual Refinements: The visuals were polished with animations and Spatial UI to deliver a seamless and immersive experience.
Immersive Audio and Effects: Audio design and environmental effects were integrated to bring depth and realism to the game world, rounding out the experience.
