Final Look

Concept

The "Tasty Crypto" series was created as a fun and approachable way to keep the audience updated on this month’s blockchain news. We came up with the concept of a salad to represent how crypto is a mix of different elements—services, NFTs, tokens, and coins. Each salad ingredient was used to symbolize these components which makes the concept more relatable and easy to understand.

The ingredients for each month change based on the type of vegetable or fruit that best represents that specific month

Element

Three main elements: Coin/ Token, NFT, Platform & Service

  • Round ingredients like tomatoes, eggs, and onions represent coins and tokens.

  • Basic vegetables, such as leafy greens, represent NFTs.

  • Square ingredients, like cheese cubes or salmon cubes, represent platforms and services.

  1. Coin / Token : their circular shape symbolizes the traditional design of coins, unity, and continuity in the blockchain ecosystem

  2. NFT : as a foundational ingredient, with each lettuce's uniqueness symbolizing the individuality of non-fungible tokens

  3. Platform & Service: the building blocks that support and connect various elements in the blockchain ecosystem.

Blockchain is hard to grasp due to its techy nature

Question:

Blockchain is a fast-paced industry with complex concepts that are hard to grasp. How can we visualize these concepts in a simple and easy way?

Our Approach:

Combine the concept of a salad by visualizing each blockchain element as an ingredient and featuring it in a monthly newsletter.

Goal

To consistently upload and share the latest news and updates about the crypto industry, presenting them in a way that is engaging, fun, and visually appealing, making complex information more accessible and enjoyable for the audience.

How Built

Built using Blender and Maya for 3D modeling, along with Figma for layout and design editing

Concept and Symbolism:

Ingredients were categorized to symbolize blockchain elements:

  • Round ingredients (e.g., tomatoes, eggs, onions) represent coins and tokens.

  • Basic vegetables (e.g., leafy greens) represent NFTs.

  • Square ingredients (e.g., cheese cubes, salmon cubes) represent platforms and services.

Modeling and Texturing:

  • All referenced ingredients were identified and modeled in Blender and Maya.

  • Various textures, such as glass, plastic, and furry versions, were created and tested.

  • The glossy texture was selected for the final models to enhance the visual appeal.

Lighting and Layout Design:

  • Lighting was refined to make the scenes visually attractive and cohesive.

  • Final layouts for the posters were designed and adjusted in Figma to ensure a polished presentation.
